Western men win third straight with 14-9 win at Vassar

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - With the score tied 5-5 at the half, the Western Connecticut State University men's lacrosse team outscored Vassar College 7-0 in the third quarter on its way to a 14-9 victory Wednesday evening, moving the Colonials to 4-1 overall on the season.

The Colonials were led by junior attack Ryan Foster (Ledyard, CT) who scored a hat-trick and assisted on three other goals.  Also scoring a trio of goals were Anthony Nejame (Danbury, CT) and Nate Wilson (Norwich, CT).  John Foristall (Danbury, CT) added a pair of goals for Western, which has now won three straight games.

Vassar, 2-3, was led by Noah Parson's five goals.

Chris Alexander (Swansey, NH) earned the victory in goal for Western.  He made 11 saves and improves to 3-0 on the year.

Andrew Nicol registered 18 saves for the Brewers before yielding to Ben Lehr for the final 5:37.  Lehr made one save and allowed a goal.

Western plays host to Plattsburgh State this Saturday, March 16 at the WAC.  Face-off is slated for 6 pm.
