    DANBURY, CT – Sophomore pitcher Angelina Miller (Holbrook, NY) tossed a shutout in the opener and junior Erica Bower (Hillsborough, NJ) smacked a game-winning walk-off hit in the nightcap to lead the Western Connecticut State University softball team to a doubleheader sweep over visiting Little East Conference foe Rhode Island College on Tuesday. The Colonials won Game One, 4-0, before pushing three runs across in the bottom of the seventh inning to capture Game Two, 6-5.
  • Kayla Nowak Belts Eighth Home Run Of The Season As Colonials Sweep UMass Boston

    DANBURY, CT - Senior outfielder Kayla Nowak (Northford, CT) went 3-for-6, belted her eighth home run of the season and drove in four runs in Western Connecticut State University's softball doubleheader sweep of the University of Massachusetts Boston, 5-3 and 9-0, on Senior Day Sunday afternoon.
  • WestConn Softball Earns Split At Southern Maine

    GORHAM, ME–  Senior Kayla Nowak (North Branford, Conn.) hit a solo h ome run to lead off the eighth inning, and sophomore Angelina Miller (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) was able to retire the side in the bottom of the inning as the Western Connecticut State University softball team earned their 5-4 extra-inning win in game one of a doubleheader split at the University of Southern Maine Saturday afternoon at USM Softball Stadium.

    HENNIKER, N.H.—The Western Connecticut State University softball team opened up a hectic string of six games in three days with a doubleheader sweep at New England College on a chilly Friday afternoon.  The Colonials swept the Pilgrims, 11-2 and 10-0 in the frigid Granite State.

    HARTFORD, CT – Junior shortstop Courtney Erickson (Everett, Mass.) went 5-for-7 with three runs and two runs batted in to lead the Trinity College Bantams to an 8-2, 9-1 doubleheader sweep against the visiting Western Connecticut State University Colonials in softball action this afternoon. 
  • Hart Paces Softball in Split at Eastern

    WILLIMANTIC, CT – The Western Connecticut State University softball team split both games of a doubleheader at Little East Conference rival Eastern Connecticut on Tuesday afternoon. The Colonials were edged in the opener, 9-7, before winning the nightcap, 5-2. With the split, WestConn moved to 7-18-1 overall and 2-4 in league play, while the Warriors went to 12-15.

    DANBURY, CT - Sophomore righty Angelina Miller (Holbrook, NY) tossed a four-hit shutout in the nightcap to help the Western Connecticut State University softball team earn a split with visiting Keene State College. The Owls captured the opener, 1-0, before the Colonials came back to take the nightcap, 5-0 at Westside Field on Saturday afternoon.

    NEW PALTZ, NY – Sophomore pitcher Angelina Miller (Holbrook, NY) tossed three scoreless innings in relief to pick up her first save of the season before firing six strong innings in the nightcap as the Western Connecticut State University softball squad edged SUNY-New Paltz, 6-5, before the second game of the doubleheader was called due to darkness at 2-2. The Colonials moved to 5-16-1 overall.

The Colonials won the opener, 5-3, before falling in the second contest, 4-1. With the split, WestConn moved to 4-14 overall while the Knights went to 5-8.

    SPRINGFIELD, MA - The Western Connecticut State University softball team dropped a pair at Springfield College on Tuesday afternoon. The Pride came from behind to take the opener, 8-7 then blanked the Colonials, 3-0 in the nightcap at Potter Field on Tuesday.

    BRONX, NY – The Western Connecticut State University softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader at non-league opponent New York University on Saturday night. The Colonials were edged in the opener, 4-3, before falling in the nightcap, 21-6. With the pair of losses, WestConn moved to 1-11 overall while the Bobcats improved to 7-5.

    REDLANDS, CA - Western Connecticut State University picked up its first win of the season as it defeated University of Redlands, 5-3 in eight innings to cap off a doubleheader split on Wednesday afternoon.  In a pair of tight games, the Colonials fell 3-2 in nine innings in the opener.

    THOUSAND OAKS, CA – The Western Connecticut State University softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader on Monday. In Game One, the Colonials rallied but the comeback fell short as they were downed, 6-4. In Game Two, WestConn overcame a four-run deficit, but the Regals rallied to win a nailbiter, 10-9.

    WHITTIER, CA - For the first time in program history, the Western Connecticut State University softball team opened its season in California. On Sunday, the left-coast hosts were not too welcoming as Whittier College swept a doubleheader, 8-1 and 3-1 at Palmer Field.

    Due to a forecasted snow storm this Wednesday the annual Western Connecticut State University Softball Team Breakfast has been moved to Wednesday. February 14, 2018,  in the school's Westside Ballroom at 7:15 am.
