DARTMOUTH, MA – The Western Connecticut State University women's swimming and diving squad captured sixth place at the Little East Conference Championships hosted by UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon. The Colonials return to action for the four-day New England Swimming and Diving Championships (NEISDA) beginning Thursday.
WestConn put together its strongest performance of the meet in the final event. Senior Sarah Sheaffer (New Fairfield, CT), junior Holly Bly (Watertown, CT), and sophomores Rachel Peet (New Fairfield, CT) and Olivia Sosnoski (Westport, CT) combined to earn a fifth place finish in the nine-team 400-yard medley relay.
"We finished off the conference championships with everyone going multiple best times and an overall great team performance! We have a few continuing on to compete at the NEISDA Championships in 2 weeks and I am looking forward to having one more opportunity for them this season," said WestConn head coach Jill Cook following the action.
