BOSTON, Mass. – Needing just one more win to secure a spot in the Little East Conference Tournament, women's tennis fought hard and earned that crucial victory as they defeated the Colonials by the final of 6-3 Friday afternoon at the BC High School Tennis Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
With Friday's win, the Beacons secured the sixth seed in next week's Little East Conference Tournament and will travel on Tuesday for the quarterfinal round of this year's tournament.
From start to finish, the Beacons dominated Friday's conference match. In doubles play, the Beacons made quick work of their competition earning an 8-1 win at the first flight, while picking-up an 8-0 win at the second flight. A forfeit at third doubles would send the Beacons into singles play with a 2-1 lead.
In singles play, Kristy Garcia (Miami, Fla.) collected a 6-0, 6-4 win at the first flight to make it 3-1 Beacons. Also picking-up wins was Katie Gauthier (West Boylston, Mass.) at fourth singles, 6-2, 6-1.
At the third singles, Kathleen Conroy(Quincy, Mass.) continued her strong play, as she earned a 6-2, 6-1 win.
Collecting the Beacons final victory of the afternoon was freshman Annie Fidelia (Stoneham, Mass.). The Stoneham native earned her first collegiate victory after defeating WCSU's Gabriella Orsini by the final of 6-3, 6-4.
