Women’s Tennis Season Ends With 6-3 Loss to Plymouth State

DANBURY, CT – After falling to Little East Conference foe UMass-Boston on Friday night, the Western Connecticut State University women's tennis team concluded its season with a 6-3 loss against visiting league nemesis Plymouth State on Saturday afternoon. However, the Colonials' double squad of junior Carole Allers (Wilton, CT) and sophomore Emma Chapman (Danbury, CT) contributed all three points with their doubles and respective singles wins. The teammates closed out the 2017 slate with a doubles record of 12-1.

"It's quite disappointing to finish the season with a loss, however, it wasn't due to lack of effort," said WestConn head coach Shawn Stillman. "Looking ahead to next season, our entire team is returning and they'll be hungry to build on the success of this season and compete for a playoff berth in our conference," he added.

The Colonials season comes to an end at 6-8 overall and 2-6 in league play, while Plymouth State improves to 10-4 and 5-3.
