King Leads Women’s Volleyball to Sweep Over Misericordia & St. Joseph’s

PATCHOGUE, NY – Junior outside hitter Kamari King (East Hartford, CT) tallied match-highs of 12 and 25 kills in a pair of non-conference victories over Misericordia and St. Joseph's, respectively, on Saturday afternoon. The Colonials downed Misericordia 3-0 (25-20, 26-16, 25-19) before upending St. Joseph's, 3-1 (25-18, 25-17, 21-25, 25-23).

In addition to King's 12 floors against Misericordia, classmate libero Jenna Pisano (Orange, CT) gathered a match-high 13 digs, rookie Nyilah Horton (Centennial, CO) chipped in with six kills and three blocks for the Colonials.

In the victory over St. Joseph's, junior setter Jenna Skerritt (Wolcott, CT) dished out a match-high 32 assists, while Pisano also garnered another high, 17 digs. Junior Mikayla Aubry (Fresno, CA) was also a key contributor with four service aces and four block assists for WestConn.

"We cut down on our unforced errors which had been our Achilles heel," said Colonials head coach Don Ferguson following the pair of wins in which the squad improved to 6-17 overall.

WestConn returns to action on Saturday for a tri-match against Clark and LEC foe host Plymouth State.
